Megan Bell

Megan is currently the Assistant Director of the University Memorial Center (UMC) for Student Programs at the University of Colorado-Boulder.  She oversees the CU GOLD Leadership Program, the Dennis Small Cultural Center, UMC Special Events, Homecoming, UMC Diversity Training, and serves as the advisor for Program Council and Senior Class Council.  Megan also serves on the Association of College Unions-International (ACUI) Region 13 Leadership Team as the Campus Life & Program Management Education Council Coordinator. Prior to coming to CU, Megan was the Assistant Director of Student Activities at Whittier College in Los Angeles. She has also worked in Residence Life at the University of California-Riverside and Washington State University. Megan received her BA in English/Women's Studies at the University of Northern Colorado in 2000, and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration and Student Affairs from Washington State University in 2002.  Megan enjoys reading, traveling, dancing, and spending time with her husband and her kittens.

Marla A. Franco

Marla has worked in the field of Student Affairs for close to eight years.  She currently works at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) as the Coordinator of Leadership & Student Activities in the Office of Student Life & Cultural Centers.  In this position, she oversees the Student Development & Leadership Institute (SDLI) and the campus’s 250 clubs, organizations, and councils.  She also serves as the advisor to Phi Kappa Tau.  Her areas of expertise in the field include, but are not limited to, student leadership development, first year initiatives, diversity training, student activities, graduate student mentorship, program assessment and evaluation, and learning-centered initiatives.

Marla earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with a minor in Education, from the University of California, Berkeley and a master’s degree in Counseling, with an emphasis in Student Development in Higher Education, from California State University, Long Beach.  She is also the author of a case study titled, Development of Student Affairs Professionals: A Proactive Response to Change in Higher Education.

Dr. Carol L. Lundberg

Dr. Lundberg is Professor of Higher Education and Organization Leadership and Director and Director of the College Student Affairs Summer Track Program at Azusa Pacific University. Her research interests focus on college success for underrepresented and/or underserved populations, particularly students of color and economically disadvantaged students. She uses a quantitative approach to analyze national databases, primarily the College Student Experiences Questionnaire, to identify the types and quality of student involvement with faculty, peers, and academic endeavors that most strongly predict learning and achievement in college. She teaches courses in quantitative analysis, program evaluation, college student characteristics and experiences, and designing learning experiences. With a professional background in student affairs, she seeks to introduce aspiring student affairs practitioners to effective practices in program creation, evaluation, and assessment, with a focus on students whose cultural/economic/gender backgrounds have been traditionally underserved in higher education. She is actively involved in the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) and the Association for College Student Administrators (ACPA).

Dr. Lundberg received a bachelor's degree in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine, a master's degree in Social Science with an emphasis in Student Development, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Claremont Graduate University.

Dr. Rebecca Gutierrez Keeton

Dr. Gutierrez Keeton is a first-generation college student who loves working at Cal Poly Pomona. She graduated from Chapman University with a Bachelor of Music Degree and teaching credential. She received her MA in student affairs from Azusa Pacific University and earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the Claremont Graduate University.

Rebecca is the Interim Associate Vice President & Dean of Students at Cal Poly Pomona. She started at CPP in 1989 at the Office of Student Life. She then transitioned to University Housing Services as an Associate Director and later served as Director for the Office of Student Life & Cultural Centers.

In addition to being a community volunteer, Rebecca shows her commitment to the next generation of student affairs professionals by teaching student affairs classes at CGU and CSU Long Beach, presenting papers at professional conferences, and serving as a guest speaker at colleges and universities.
